overview

This coastal modern kitchen remodel is beautiful and I am so grateful that I got to be a part of bringing it to life! The client and I had previously worked together on an E-design project for her office. I was thrilled to get the call when she decided to use my services again for the bigger projects in her home, including her kitchen.  For this space, I wanted to give her that modern coastal style that she loves, with lots of crisp white details. She also wanted to keep the space feeling warm and classic.

This project was handled virtually, but since this was local, I did get to provide some additional hands-on styling assistance. And the best part, I got to grab some great photos of the space!

kitchen Before & Goals

The kitchen area of this home was nice and open to the living area and dining space. But, it had some qualities that made it feel dated and dark. The client had worked with her contractor to develop an overall plan, and she was looking for help with the finishing details. She had expressed overwhelm with all the options for lighting, hardware, paint color, etc. and how to pull it all together. We collaborated via e-design to create guide for her selections. Here was the e-design starting point for her new kitchen.

This coastal modern kitchen design included beautiful lighting in white with gold accents. I love the look of a picture light paired with shelves between cabinets. This Hudson Valley beauty was perfect for this space! To coordinate with the picture light, the Hudson Valley Conical Pendant, also in white was a great choice for over the sink. The soft gold-tone hardware warmed the space and created a modern yet classic feel with its tailored design.

The cabinet colors were classic coastal hues. For the perimeters, we used Chantilly Lace by Benjamin Moore. And for the island, Benjamin Moore’s Hale Navy was the perfect shade. The countertops she had chosen were quartz in Calcatta Gold. For the backsplash, a 3 x 12 bright white textured ceramic subway tile was selected. To keep things cohesive with the appliances, we decided on a stainless faucet.

finishing touches

For the styling details, the coastal modern kitchen design included warm wood accents with organic textures to create interest against the white tile backsplash. Some coordinating blue textiles helped tie in the island color. Serena & Lily’s Riviera Counter stools were perfect for the space. The client already had some great accessories and we collaborated on what to add on to give her a finished cohesive look.

Overall, this was a fun and beautiful project! I can’t wait to go back once the rest is finished to see how it all came together.
